Since 2020, riders on the X2 roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California have suffered catastrophic head and brain injuries after completing rides on the fourth-dimension coaster — including traumatic brain injury, subdural hematoma requiring emergency skull-removal surgery, and loss of consciousness. In July 2026, two riders were hospitalized with severe brain injuries within weeks of each other; one underwent emergency brain surgery and was reported in a coma. Six Flags closed the ride following the most recent incident.

Lawsuits filed against Magic Mountain LLC, Six Flags Theme Parks Inc., and ride manufacturer S&S Worldwide Inc. allege negligence, strict product liability, and negligent product liability in the design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of the X2 coaster.
